A trusted name of transport since 1987
Roadways India Limited (RIL) was established on 27 January 1987 as a Private Limited Company with its registered office in Kolkata. On 19 September 1995 it was converted into a Public Limited Company. Led by a group of promoters with over three decades of experience in the transport industry, RIL launched its public issue on 8 January 1996, which received an overwhelming response and was oversubscribed twice.
Today, RIL is one of the leading transport organisations in India, with a network of over 100 outlets across the country. Our well-structured and intricate logistics network ensures seamless, efficient and timely transportation of goods, both within and across states. With a commitment to reliability, we operate under the motto: “On Time, Every Time.”
Having specialised in Bulk Cargo, Over-Dimensional Cargo (ODC) and Project Consignments, we have successfully handled transportation projects of widely varying dimensions.

Human Resources & Structure
The fundamental principle determining our organisation structure is to infuse speed and flexibility in decision-making and implementation, with empowered managers across nationwide operations. RIL is organised into self-sufficient profit centres supported by central functions. Around 400 people work across the country in skilled, semi-skilled and professional roles.

RIL's central functions comprise teams for Finance, Marketing, Operations, Corporate Affairs, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal & Secretarial, Fleet and General Administration — each with a dedicated team committed to bringing laurels to the company.

RIL owns a fleet comprising HCVs, MCVs, trailers and cranes, and plans to add more vehicles every financial year as we grow.
